Sitar & Tabla

Performs exquisite Hindustani classical and light music on sitar, accompanied by the celebratory rhythms of tabla. Selected melodies to suit any occasion, be it romantic ragas or a fiery raga to liven things up.  Neel Murgai has studied sitar for 22 years, currently with Pandit Krishna Bhatt. In 2013, Neel was a featured musician in Disney's musical theater production of The Jungle Book. He has worked with a diverse array of artists including Bill T. Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Wyclef Jean, Samir Chatterjee, Mary Zimmerman, Andre De Shields, Thurston Moore, Loren Conners and Vijay Iyer. Neel has performed in theaters and festivals around the world, from Lincoln Center to the Blue Note and has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. Neel composed music for the films The Yes Men Fix the World and A Decent Arrangement, as well as the BBC TV series Holidays on a Plate.
